How to keep your child on task using guided access
Guided access is designed to keep your child or you from leaving a certain app. When enabled, you are able to control what areas of the screen can be touched, the motion of the device...
And also if the home button can be used. There are a few simple steps for this.
Open up the settings application
Go into accessibility in the menu
Go into guided access and turn it on. It would also be a good idea to set a pass code.
If you go into any app and triple click home (quad click on iPad) it will bring up a menu.
The bottom buttons will allow you to choose if the home button can be used, if the screen can be touched, or if the device can be rotated.
You can also circle areas of the screen that will not be able to be touched, for example this area turns off all options for notes.
As you can see, trying to touch where the screen is disabled does nothing.
To turn off guided access, triple click (quad click on iPad) the home button, you will need to enter the password you created.
You can then click end in the top left corner. This will completely unlock your device.
